What is Psychosocial Recovery Coaching?
Psychosocial Recovery Coaching supports people living with mental health challenges to
understand their experiences, build coping strategies, and work towards a meaningful life.
A recovery coach partners with you to:
- Explore your symptoms and find practical ways to manage them in healthy, sustainable ways.
- Strengthen your skills and coping mechanisms so you feel more confident day to day.
- Create a plan around your personal goals — whether that’s travelling, studying, finding work,
building friendships, improving communication, or even starting your own business. - Coordinate supports and review your progress regularly, so you stay on track with the things
that matter most to you.
We understand that being an NDIS participant is only one part of your identity.
Recovery coaching is about seeing the bigger picture and walking alongside you as you
build a life that feels purposeful and connected.

Identify what matters to you and the steps to get there.
2. Navigate the NDIS

3. Stay connected

4. Build skills

Grounded in Social Work Principles
Our Founding Director, Kanchan Kaler, completed a
Master of Social Work at the University of Melbourne
, specialising in Disability Practice.
The University is also home to the
Melbourne Disability Institute (MDI)
, led by Professor Bruce Bonyhady, who co-chaired
the Independent Review of the NDIS
.
While Quality Care Network is independent from MDI, our practice draws on their research and thought leadership.
Over the past four years, the principles advanced by MDI, particularly
inclusion, equity, evidence-based practice, and lived-experience leadership,
have informed our approach to support.
This grounding ensures that our services are not only person-centred and practical, but also aligned with the
broader movement toward systemic change and improved outcomes for people with disability across Australia.
